My name is Justin Giovannetti, I'm a reporter and proud owner of worn boots.
I'm currently based out of Vancouver for Canada's national newspaper, The Globe & Mail. My previous gig was at CTV in Montreal.
For four years I wore a pair of Blundstone 500 Originals in brown. By the summer of 2013 they were wrecked, having carried me my first day at my college newspaper to the smouldering ruins of Lac-Megantic.
Those boots appear as they looked one week after I arrived in Megantic—a story that would profoundly change my life. The boots had sprung leaks at that point and the leather would finally split on the rails outside of town. I bought a new pair nearly a year later.
